Director of Human Resources – Direct Hire- Buffalo, NY
A top Buffalo-based company is seeking a Director of Human Resources. This is a strategic level, HR role in a growing organization reporting to Executive Management. The ideal candidate will have 10+ year’s experience in a sizable organization. The new Director HR will likely have acted as the number two HR professional in a large company (over 500 people); or the number one HR professional in a smaller organization. Broad-based Human Resources experience in a complex environment is required. Leadership of a team of HR professionals is required.
As a part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Dir HR will drive company strategy and sit with a group of peers including the heads of Finance, Sales, and Operations. Acting as a strategic HR leader requires expert counsel for upper management. Tactically, the Director HR must be willing to roll up the sleeves and assist the team of six people manage the human capital in this organization. Reporting to the Director HR is a Human Resources Manager, two HR Generalists, an HR Administrator, and the heads of Safety and Security. The company is self-insured, and the successful candidate must have managed a broad variety of benefits and compensation packages including experience with SERP’s. Five plus year’s experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
The Director of HR reports to the COO who has been with the company for years, this is a great mentor and boss. Additionally, Human Resources is seen as a strategic department.
