Direct Hire – Desktop Administrator – Buffalo, NY
The role of Desktop Administrator is to provide infrastructural support to our client's employees by responding to all incoming service requests for PCs/laptops. The individual will support, install, and fix Windows and macOS computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other computer assets in an organization.
Responsibilities
- Mange all end-user devices including ordering, installation and training. Computers, cell phones, printers, etc.
- Develop, maintain, upgrade, and document all aspects of workstation environments
- Coordinate operation system software updates and software patches
- Provide IT support to employees globally across New Era, build relationships, and solve their technical problems across a variety of platforms
- Act as the Technical systems resource on small to large scale projects
- Communicate through a variety of platforms, work with global team to deliver solutions to support users and enable their success
- Work with IT team to ensure maintenance and support for mission critical equipment and applications is current and fit-for-purpose while meeting the business needs
- Work closely with other facets of IT and departments to implement and troubleshoot business applications as they apply to the core infrastructure
- Keep all sensitive matters confidential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems
- Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and efficiently prioritize workday to maximize productivity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Enthusiastic, pro-active, and positive person who adapts to change and with urgency and persistence
- The ability to be innovative and creative when handling difficult business challenges
- Strong desire to assist the team and share knowledge
- Expert knowledge of Windows & macOS desktops, Active Directory, and O365
- Experience with enterprise desktop deployment tools (preferable PDQ and Jamf)
- Knowledge of mobile device support and management (MDM) using Intune
- In-depth knowledge and the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on Windows and macOS devices
- Knowledge and experience working with Zendesk or comparable tools FFF
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs
Education and Experience
- One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in Service Desk or related IT role preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; Relevant job experience in lieu of degree will be considered
- Knowledge and experience working with ITSM and ticketing tools
